Create your very own cartridge palette with PMU Optima!

It takes more than one brush to create a masterpiece.

Our Kwadron PMU Optima series offers five different types of cartridges that were created especially for permanent makeup. They are well-known to PMU Artists around the world who treat them just as painters treat their brushes while creating artwork on canvas. As we know, in order to create true work of art, artists typically use several different brushes depending on what effects they want to achieve. PMU artists work in a similar way, as for them the skin of a client is their canvas, whereas cartridges are their brushes.

Five PMU Optima cartridge types + your creativity = amazing pigmentation effects!

Using different types of PMU Optima cartridges during one pigmentation session might result in amazing healed results. It can even lead to developing your own signature technique of pigmentation provided that you devote some time to perfecting your skills.  The key to success is a persistent practice as well as adopting new solutions while using high-end equipment. In other words, it’s all about being consistent and patient in finding your own, unique way of working with products that you trust. This of course comes down to investment in both great equipment and time. Bear in mind, however, that such investment will surely contribute to a higher quality of your services which, in turn, will attract more clients. Introducing more types of cartridges to your pigmentation process will most definitely shorten the pigmentation time itself which over time will allow you to increase the number of daily sessions. One session doesn’t have to be so time-consuming. You will be able to shorten the pigmentation time significantly if you decide to choose more than one needle for one session. In order to be able to make this change, you will have to practice more with different types and sizes of cartridges just to get the hang of it. The more you practice, the more confident in your skills you will become and the more happy your clients will be with the healed results! And, as we know, clients who are satisfied with the results are more likely to come back to you for their next sessions.

When to use different Optima cartridge types?

We just love inspiring great PMU Artists! We are presenting five different types of Optima cartridges below and explain how they can be used. These descriptions, however, are only suggestions of the most fundamental uses of our cartridges that you should consider while creating your own Optima palette. We encourage you to experiment with Optima needles and find your own new ways of using them. Let your creativity flow thought our PMU Optima needles!

RL (Round Liner)

RL cartridges are normally used to create contours and lines. The needles used in this type of cartridge are extremely precise, stiff and placed tightly together. They are perfect for creating details:

  • lines, coutours
  • small fills
Optima series offers RLs with 1, 3, 5 or 7 needles in one cartridge.
The needles come in different thicknesses: 0.18, 0.20, 0.25, 0.30, 0.35 and 0.40 mm.

So, for example, when you buy 25/3RL Optima cartridge, you get a cartridge with 3 needles and their thickness is 0.25 mm each.

RS (Round Shader)

This type of cartridge differs from RL in that the needles inside one RS cartridge are not placed that tightly together. This means that more pigment will be distributed into the skin.

RS are perfect for creating:

  • thick contours
  • bigger fills
They come either with 1 , 3,  5 or 7 needles in one cartridge.

MG (Magnum)

This type of cartridge has two rows of needles which makes them great fillers of bigger spaces. MGs are mostly used for :

  • shading
  • bigger fills
  • wide contours
You can get them either with 5 or 9 needles in one cartridge.

FL (Flat)

FL cartridges are quite similar to MGs but here the needles are placed in one instead of two rows. The mark that they leave on the skin is therefore more transparent than the mark left by MG.

FLs are great for creating:

  • gradients
  • 3D effects
They only come in 4 needles in one cartridge.

CF (Slope)

In this type of cartridge, needles are placed in one row but are of different lengths and arranged in descending order. Thanks to such an arrangement, you can use it to create both dense shading and points of various intensities, depending on what tilt angle you use against the skin.

CFs are great for creating:

  • shading
  • washed out marks
They come with either 3 or 5 needles in one cartridge.
